it's general cleaning day for me. well, among others. i have to finish the weeks laundry first. i haven't had time to go through things for the past years since hubby went away for work. i wasn't in the mood to rummage through dust and what nots. i hated throwing away things. trash is a problem as i don't get to hear the garbage truck come by because i'm at work when they do. so now was the chance to clean up and throw away things that are not usable anymore.

i was able to fill up four large garbage bags with trash. and i stopped myself from throwing away more as i'm not sure how to get rid of them later. luckily when my son and i went out to throw them in batches someone offered help and we were able to dispose the whole lot in a jiffy. neat!

i got to sort through a lot of bags and threw away some. i had grad pics from highschool friends still with me, letters from hubby and palanca (retreat) letters given when i was in highschool. its just nice to read them from time to time. my kids especially had fun reading the love letters i got from hubby. who was my bf since i was 15. they were amazed at the lingo we used then. and were giggling while reading the "kilig" lines. my son said he'd copy some of the phrases hubby used. sabi ko no copying. hehehe

its nice to reminisce on the past from time to time. especially the good times. i couldn't bring myself to throw any of the letters. (esp the palanca ones) every word said, every emotion felt were always worth the trip to the past. strange how emails get lost (deleted) in the heat of the moment. only to regret later on because there's no getting back to how it was. through the years memories fade. but the striking ones, the ones that had an impact on your life are the memories worth keeping.

it was a tiresome day. but then again, i still had fun.
